November 6, 2009 Kia News No Comments

They’re unique and quirky. They have a major hip, urban following. They have a modern, carefree aura. They promote fun and freedom. They’re one- of- a- kind. They’re the Soul Collective and the Kia Soul.

Until recently, I had never heard of the Soul Collective. Come to find out, its one of the most original groups around. Simply, they celebrate all forms of art: music, film design, the entrepreneur spirit and gaming. It’s a group of young individuals- Janelle, Jeff, Jeffrey, Jonas and Francois- who have “explored and discovered a new way to roll”.

Enter the Kia Soul. This new sleek box on wheels has really upped the ante for the youthful, urban drivers and has given them “a new way to roll”. The Chicago Kia Soul averages an impressive 31.2 mpg paired with its standard 122-hp 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine (obviously, with the option to step it up) and a low $13,000 sticker price to start. With impressive passenger and cargo room, superb maneuverability and excellent tire traction, the Soul also seems to be one of those cars where the drivers in full control and comfortable all the while.

The Soul also had an extensive list of customizing options. Some available safety features: ABS, traction control, an anti-skid system, front side airbags, and curtain side airbags. Coming optional on some 3 of the 4 higher level Souls (there’s the Soul, Soul, Soul!, and Soul Sport) while standard on others, are a wireless cell phone link, 16-inch alloy wheels, remote keyless entry, 18-inch wheels, sunroof, sport suspension, unique interior and exterior trim and an upgraded audio system. All full of personality and all full of Soul.

These “soul siblings” have teamed up to bring its hip, urban audiences together for the opportunity to see some of their favorite bands and artists in concert, among other things. Beginning this past summer and running through the end of fall 2009, Soul Collective has hooked up with bands like MGMT, Silversun Pickups, Fool’s Gold, Boy Crisis, and Plain White T’s among a couple dozen more, to headline Sunday night concerts in undisclosed locations (until days before the concert, that is).

In order to ensure you get to see your favorite band, you have some easy (and quite frankly, fun) homework. Test-drive an all-new Kia Soul and get yourself two free- yes, free- tickets to one of the many concerts brought to you by Soul Collective and the Kia Soul.

Show “how you roll” and support Soul Collective and Kia by visiting your local Waukegan new car dealer, like Classic Kia, and test-driving an all-new Kia Soul.
