Kia Sorento promises pleasant driving with hands-free infotainment system

Kia appeared at the Detroit auto show – not featuring a new product, but rather new technology. This new technology was a hands-free in-car infotainment system, called Uvo (meant to stand for “Your Voice”).  Based on Microsoft’s auto software platform, Uvo allows drivers to use voice commands to control their phone and music functions while on the road. Uvo also includes a USB port which enables drivers to store songs to 1 GB of memory, which Kia calls “the jukebox.” This newly offered technology is available with the 2011 Kia Sorento, making the new model even more valuable and interesting to consumers. 2011 Kia Sportage: perfect size and great safety features

The new Waukegan Kia Sportage has been spied, and it’s promising to be a great crossover SUV.  While it is currently being test driven in South Korea, Kia’s headquarters, expect it to arrive on U.S. lots sometime in the second half of 2010 (most likely to be sold as a 2011 model).

The technology behind the Sportage’s powertrain was developed through Kia’s partnership with Hyundai.  The engine is referred to as an “R-engine” that will give Kia Sportage Chicago models 184 horsepower.  There is also talk that the current V6 engine will be replaced with a 4-cylinder unit that will use gas more efficiently. … Continue Reading

Kia Sedona offers big space for big families

Who ever thought a minivan could be luxurious? Well, the Kia Sedona may just do it.

Just recently I found out I’m going to have my fourth daughter in a few months and my husband and I decided it’s time to upgrade to a minivan to fit the whole clan. We started test-driving minivans like the Nissan Quest and Toyota Sienna and weren’t really falling in love with anything. A couple weeks ago my sister suggested we stop at Waukegan new car dealer Classic Kia.

We went and test-drove a Sedona van at the new and used Waukegan car dealer and ended up driving off the lot in it about an hour later. What really sold us was the space. I’m going to come right out and say it: Kia is making exciting cars. Stylish, reliable cars. Cars people can afford. Never has the brand looked so poised to take market share from the bigger automakers. In all of my years writing about vehicles, the strides Kia has made in the past several years are more impressive than I’ve seen from any car company. Ever.

A lot of exciting models have made their way to Kia showrooms and the top of car shoppers’ minds recently, including the fresh-look Kia Soul and the Spectra-replacing Kia Forte.
