Not everybody is expecting the Chicago Auto Show to be a huge zinger of an event, but at least one showstopper is anticipated to make an appearance, and that’s the new plug-in concept vehicle from Kia, codename “Ray.”

In Chicago, Kia Soul buzz is relatively old news, but the new Ray is the wave of the future for Kia, who in the last year has pulled out all the stops to show that they absolutely can compete with the longer-tenured, bigger-named automakers in the world. Kia Sorento promises pleasant driving with hands-free infotainment system

Kia appeared at the Detroit auto show – not featuring a new product, but rather new technology. This new technology was a hands-free in-car infotainment system, called Uvo (meant to stand for “Your Voice”).  Based on Microsoft’s auto software platform, Uvo allows drivers to use voice commands to control their phone and music functions while on the road. Uvo also includes a USB port which enables drivers to store songs to 1 GB of memory, which Kia calls “the jukebox.” This newly offered technology is available with the 2011 Kia Sorento, making the new model even more valuable and interesting to consumers. Kia revealed the price of the new 2011 Sorento, available at dealerships such as Waukegan new car dealerships, Antioch used car dealerships, and other locations nation-wide in early 2010. Consumers can get a five-seat unibody crossover with a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder and a manual transmission standard for an impressive $19,995. With a 175 horsepower engine and 169 pound-feet of force, these features are also standard for the LX and EX models, but the higher-tier models have automatic transmissions.
